Meet Lori-Ann Murphy
Fly fishing pioneer Lori-Ann Murphy founded Reel Belize after falling in love with San Pedro in 2009. With decades of experience—from casting competitions to guiding—she’s dedicated to sharing her knowledge with the local guide community.
Lori-Ann introduced new casting techniques and brought the first Fly Fishers International (FFI) instructor to San Pedro, helping foster a tradition of skill and professionalism among Belizean guides.
Today, Reel Belize operates as a licensed Belize Tour Operator, offering handcrafted trips designed by you—with a team of warm, knowledgeable, and fun-loving guides.

Meet Captain Edwardo Ortega 🎣
Born and raised in Sarteneja, Captain Eduardo grew up on the water and got into fishing with the help of his cousin. Before becoming a guide, he worked alongside his dad as a commercial fisherman but as the industry became tougher, he decided to turn his passion and experience into guiding.
Now, with 7 years of guiding experience, he spends his days helping guests chase unforgettable moments on the water.
🐟 Favorite fish to target is Tarpon, for the power, excitement, and unforgettable fights.
From growing up on the sea to guiding anglers through Belize’s waters, Captain Eduardo brings experience, patience, and local knowledge to every trip 🎣
