Meet Lori-Ann Murphy
Fly fishing pioneer Lori-Ann Murphy founded Reel Belize after falling in love with San Pedro in 2009. With decades of experience—from casting competitions to guiding—she’s dedicated to sharing her knowledge with the local guide community.
Lori-Ann introduced new casting techniques and brought the first Fly Fishers International (FFI) instructor to San Pedro, helping foster a tradition of skill and professionalism among Belizean guides.
Today, Reel Belize operates as a licensed Belize Tour Operator, offering handcrafted trips designed by you—with a team of warm, knowledgeable, and fun-loving guides.

Meet Captain Aroldo Eliy Garcia 🎣
A proud Belizean from San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Captain Aroldo has been guiding anglers for over 12 years. Inspired by his family and a lifelong love of the ocean, he grew up fishing with nothing more than bread and a single hook before turning his passion into a career.
Favorite fish to target: Tarpon, for the adrenaline, powerful fights, and spectacular jumps that can leave anglers in awe.
Captain Aroldo especially loves fly fishing and the challenge of hunting fish on the flats. His years of experience, local knowledge, and passion for the sport help create unforgettable days on the water for his guests.
Favorite Guide tip: "When rigging a fly, I always use a loop knot. It gives the fly more natural movement in the water."
