General Situation: The wind blew until March 17th! With the luck from the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, the wind moved to our prevailing east at about 5 mph. It moved around for the rest of the month but stayed below 10 mph, which was welcomed by all angler’s but especially fly fishermen.
In spite of the epic winds from the first part of the month, lots of bonefish were landed on fly from persistent anglers. On spin we had permit landed. On fly we had permit break off and anglers hearts broken. And when the conditions were perfect on the front side for rolling tarpon, our angling guest Miss Dione from Scotland landed two on her flies!
We had the Super Full Moon on the 20th and it was a sensational site from the beach side as it rose up from the sea.
A lot of angling guests like to get out and explore on their own. For this we recommend a golf cart tour up toward Tranquility Bay for calm east winds and over to Secret Beach north or south when the wind is strong on east side.
It’s Dry Season! And the weather is finding it’s way back to happy fishing conditions!
